Castle Model (Untextured)

Image
After struggling with the castle model I was working on using Rhino, I ultimately decided to ditch my original idea and work on a new model that's more so inspired by a fairytale tower, especially the famous one from the fairytale Rapunzel.  To do that, I relied on gridsnap a lot more to get more accurate proportions than I did in my original model.  I started out with a box, which I combined with more boxes using the Boolean function to create an iconic castle structure with merlons as a base.  From there, I created a cone structure with a top shape on top to form the rest of the tower, and added windows using Boolean after merging a square with a circle and extruding the final shape.  Thus, I ended up with this as a base model: From there, I added some more details, including merlons to the top of the tower by rotating a box and using Boolean to remove the copies from the base.  However, while doing this I struggle with forming the divets properly so som...

In-Progress Castle 3D Model

Image
To further familiarize myself with rhino and its assets, I have started creating a castle model with its 3D features.  Beginning with the basics: A large box. I began to add details to the box based on what I planned for my final product to look like.  I began to add a couple of cylindrical towers on each of the box's four corners, but it is here where I ran into my first issue:  whenever I tried to move the cylinders, they moved vertically as well as horizontally.  In other words, every time I tried to move them to the box's corners, they moved off of the base plane as well.  I looked into how to fix this and realized that the problem was the fact that I was trying to snap the center of the cylinders to the edges of the box, leading to the cylinders automatically being pushed upwards as they were different objects.   I figured out that the best solution for this would be to loft the objects together rather than dragging them on top of one anothe...

Voxel Flamingo Made with Rhino

Image
I've been trying out Rhino for the first time.  To acquaint myself with its features, I've created a 1x1x1 voxel model of a flamingo floatie.  Different views of said model are depicted below. I sculpted the model by making several copies of a cube until I formed a shape that I liked, and then colouring it with the paint material.
